A Few Stray Poems
by Tom Woodard

A Second American Revolution!

Ah, dizzy, crazy, wobbling around,
The world is traveling upside down,
My head is spinning out of control,
Earth’s mad insanity taking a toll,
Reason, good sense at morbidity,
Self-restraint another dear casualty,
National ruin bringing personal:
Now critical; approaching surgical!
A Second American Revolution,
Our dear Nation’s only Solution!
It’s time we reached this admission,
And sent the usurpers to perdition.

Rise up, ye Sons of Liberty, anew,
Defenders of freedom come to view,
The despot’s heel oppresses again,
A native demagoguery in the land,
‘We the People’ must once more rise,
To subdue the repression we despise,
And restore our dear Republic’s laws,
Save Liberty from the Despot’s jaws;
‘Common Sense’ again to the fore,
Repression banished from our shore,
Sons of Liberty, oh rise up again,
Dare our proud heritage to defend!
