REFLECTIONS
Reflecting on the state of our lives,
In this late, great epoch of ours,
When we know so much - we say,
And show our ignorance every day;
Shrinking vocabulary, deteriorating
Manners, social pathos discoursing,
Evidencing the loss of social graces,
Foul, gutter utterances, disgraces;
Pundits slandering with impunity,
The landscape of our community,
Littered with the filth of small minds,
Drawn up, angry, in extremist lines,
Intolerant and disrespectful, shallow,
Truth run down like candle tallow,
So ignorant, and wholly unashamed,
Minds polluted, mouths untamed,
Spouting out venom with shrill hate,
A mighty imbecilic loathing spate,
Ignorant intolerance in full bloom,
Shouting out sinful foretasted doom,
Let us not freely belittle past ages;
We ourselves such pathetic sages.
